BIO

DOM SMAZ is a Swiss-Brazilian documentary photographer, member of studio Hans Lucas. He's working for the Swiss & international press since 2011. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, and frequently travelling to Brazil. His work’s themes are often related to colonial heritage, racism, social differences and exclusion.

This year, he was awarded third place at Swiss Press Award 2018 for the category “Daily Life” with the story “Et en Attendant?”, about homeless people in Lausanne. A part of his “Black Helvetia” photo documentary was featured on the exhibition “Mobile World” at the MKG museum of Hamburg, Germany last year.

Dom has graduated at the Photography School of Vevey, Switzerland in 2012. .
